Back in the day when I was young I’m not a kid anymore, but some day’s I sit and wish I was a kid again

In ‘95 I was in third grade and
We were rocking bulls jerseys with the blue and white high top Nike’s life was so chill I couldn’t wait till I got home, we played until the streetlights came on
My momma opened up the door and said it’s time to come in
But now that I’m all grown up, and man this life seems too tough, I just want to go back to the 90’s

So take me back, when nothing mattered but the fruit snacks, that were packed up in my lunch bag and conversation was still in style
and the only thing that made me cry was sweet peas and a bedtime but everything was alright, alright

Now in days people type their words, and it doesn’t matter if they hurt and I struggle just to make sure I’m okay
Man I really need that child life faith, that believe in things like truth and grace, Lord where did we all go wrong, help us find our way

Take us back when making friends was a real thing and the only telephone ringing was on the home phone
And I didn’t need to tweet, text, or write a status full of upsets we would forgive and forget, we just carried on
